Frequently asked questions

What is the capacity of the PestOff Compact?

It holds 1.25 litres — a smaller size designed for balconies, compact gardens and tight spaces. It measures 19 × 19 × 42 cm.

Is the Compact still squirrel proof?

Yes. It uses the same dual squirrel-proof baffles and spring-loaded PestOff ports that close under squirrels and large birds, so only songbirds can feed.

Compact, 3.0 or Mega — which is right for me?

All three share the same squirrel-proof mechanism: choose the Compact (1.25 litres) for small spaces and balconies, the standard PestOff 3.0 (2 litres) for most gardens, or the Mega (4 litres) for busy gardens needing fewer refills.

What food does it take, and is seed included?

Choose mixed seed / sunflower hearts or peanut / mealworm / suet pellets when ordering. Seed is not included.

Can squirrels chew through it?

No. The tube is riot-grade chew-proof polycarbonate with metal baffles, so squirrels cannot gnaw in.

How do I clean it?

It comes apart tool-free for washing with warm soapy water and a bottle brush; rinse and air-dry before refilling.

Brought to replace my existing Roamwild bird feeder that had broken after many years of use! We have some very determined squirrels in our garden but this bird feeder is the only one I've found that the can't destroy! Fabulous product 😊

I have the original feeder, but the whilst that has been used dailynby various small birds ive noted them fly to the new one then switch to old version. I let the old version run out of seed but the new one hasnt been touched. It has had birds try but they are nit feeding from it.

Disappointed with this feeder as seed, sunflower seeds and worms pour out when used. If I put peanuts in the birds can get whole nuts out which may choke fledglings.
I have purchased other feeders and am happy with those, but I wondered if this had pieces missing?
My husband is now trying to fashion something to block the feeding port, I tried gluing the corvid cover on too but that didn’t work.

I live next to woods and am plagued by squirrels. It has only been a couple of weeks of using the Roamwild feeder, however the squirrels have given up trying.
As and when I can afford it I will be replacing the rest of my six feeders!

I purchased three of theses feeders with the starling guards. I paid a little more and bought the King Charles the 3rd edition. They look very nice however I have been disappointed with them. They loose a lot of seed. They do come with two guards the corvid guard and a guard for smaller seeds.which do work very well. I feed the wild birds a mix of sunflower, hearts suet pellets, and meal worm which states you don't need to use a gaurd. The video that I watched before I purchased the feeders stated that the feeder has a no spill seed lip which prevents the seed from falling out of the feeder. Unfortunately it fails if you feed sunflower hearts. When you fill the feeder the seed comes out of the ports if inadvertently knock the feeder the seed falls out. I find that at the end of the day there is a large amount of seed in the floor which means that I will have to fill them up more regularly as I am loosing the feed due to the no spill seed lip failing. At the moment I am considering taking them down and replacing them. I do feel that they have been a disappointing waste of money so do think before you purchase them.

This is the 4th bird feeder I have purchased and they are great. Just wish I didn't have to purchase the cage ach time to prevent the starlings eating the food.

Specification of product has changed - no stainless steel perches included although these are shown on the box and on the website. When I queried told that uk specification no longer includes these items. You should update your packaging and website to avoid wasted time in contacting you for missing parts.

We have four roamwild feeders & nothing else. However I'm not completely impressed ! . Yes they do stop squirrels, rats , pigeons and magpies. BUT ! . They DO NOT stop Starlings ! . We have had two breeding pairs of starlings =which then made eight babies =in total twelve Starlings which have been complete bullies to all the other birds with their chicks . Even the shys woodpeckers have been bullied out.
Hence we have had to take all the bird feeders away 😞😡.
Needed ! The weight restriction needs to be changed just for the lighter weight birds. The woodpeckers have found their own way of holding on . Good products , but not completely pest proof like that advert says . False advertising !

A gift for my mum, she loves the colour and the fact that the small birds have it to themselves. I love that I don't have to hear how the bigger birds are eating all the bird food.

Keeping rodents off which is great but have ordered the seed catcher as the seed on the ground is attracting pests. Hopefully this will work
